There are 3 different types of salt you could use on your walkway: sodium chloride (rock salt) is a cheaper option and is cost-effective. Calcium chloride is the most effective one but it could affect plants and animals. The last option is potassium chloride which can be used but again can be harmful to plants and animals. The best option is to use a salt without any chloride in it!❄️
